Currently, we are accepting applications for Certified and Licensed Part-Time EMS Personnel.  We only hire EMT level or above.

Pre-screen requirements: If your application is selected, you will be invited for an interview, written exam and, if potential hire, you will go through a background check, a drug screen, and a physical as required by the City of Wharton.

Successful Applicants must then complete a 48 hours Orientation Period and complete a three-month evaluation period. The first 48 hours will consist of completion of various training and testing in maps, H.I.P.P.A., E.V.O.C., EMS safety, N.I.M.S., as well as various other administrative procedures.  

We offer a very aggressive protocol which allows our medics to provide the most advanced and up to date care before a patient arrives at the Emergency Room.
 

WEMS employs a total of 8 Full Time Paramedics, including the Director of EMS and the Supervisor, 10 Part-Time Paramedics, 7 Intermediates, and 10 Basic EMT's. As of now, we have over 25 part time employees.
